Organization profile

The Psychosocial Research Group (GIPS) originates from the Psychology major at UPS Quito Headquarters, marking a commitment to the development of research in this field. Its evolution is divided into four stages: the first (2006-2008) establishes the bases of the research team and its guidelines, with a first project in collaboration with the Silva Henríquez University of Chile. The second phase (2009-2011) consolidates the research area, defining lines of work and generating multiple projects and publications. During 2012-2013, official recognition and funding was achieved for the Research Program in Community Social Psychology, which allows an increase in research production. Finally, in 2013-2014, the creation of the GIPS was formalized, integrating it into the structure of the university and continuing with the execution of ongoing projects. This journey shows significant growth in psychosocial research and community engagement.
