With the title Incidence of Linkage projects with the Society of the Salesian Polytechnic University, the publication promoted by the GIDLO group and coordinated by Blas Garzón Vera and Juan Cárdenas Tapia, sdb, appeared in December 2021. The intention was to systematize some linkage projects that had achieved social impacts in qualitative terms and educational innovation. On that occasion, a work was presented with ten chapters of reflection, systematization, analysis and description of the transcendental importance that the link with society implies for UPS. On this occasion, and as UPS celebrates 28 years of institutional life, we deliver volume two of the book, which includes 14 chapters of the work of 37 teachers, administrators, students, and invited researchers. It is the continuation of the systematization of the emblematic linkage projects that have been developed in the Cuenca, Quito and Guayaquil campuses of the university. In each one of them you can find the effort that UPS has developed in these 28 years of foundation to achieve social transformations. True to its mission and institutional vision, it has carried out hard work in the scientific, technological and cultural fields, becoming known as an institution of academic excellence, scientific production, social responsibility and the ability to influence the development of society. For all that has been said so far, it is important to start this book Developing some basic concepts, which allow us to understand the meaning of the processes of linking with society and the concept of development, which make this university a very particular way of articulating the substantive functions of being and what to do as a university.
