Organization profile

The teachers of the Research Group on Local Development (GDLO), from their disciplines, work to systematize experiences, and propose from the socialization of knowledge, new scenarios that generate welfare and development.

Within a globalized context, considering "the growing gravitation of economic, social and cultural processes of a global nature over those of a national or regional nature" (ECLAC, 2012). It is discerned that universities are not immune to changes in the environment and should become centers that will allow the generation, use, adaptation, dissemination and learning of new knowledge for the benefit of society, involving teachers, students, businesses, researchers and the community in search of knowledge to generate welfare and development. The above implies starting to look at the university from a new perspective, where knowledge plays a fundamental role, which implies working in the construction of new scenarios and structures that facilitate the interaction of its members, which allow the socialization of knowledge in the construction of a more humane society.
