Abstract

Periodic maintenance of equipment found in clinical laboratories is necessary to ensure its efficient operation and extend its lifespan. Currently, maintenance processes are managed through computer tools, which need to be developed based on the requirements of institutions and companies. This work presents the description of a system to support the maintenance tasks of clinical laboratory equipment at the company Proquímica, Ecuador. Information was gathered from the Maintenance Department of the company to provide supporting information for the maintenance of clinical equipment. In addition, a system was designed and developed, which includes a website and a mobile application. This allows technicians and maintenance personnel to accurately and orderly record all activities performed, including details such as dates, tasks, and spare parts. The mobile application provides remote access to up-to-date maintenance records. A usability evaluation of the system was conducted using the PSSUQ questionnaire, which consists of 16 questions to assess user satisfaction with an application, focusing on ease of use, efficiency, and perceived quality. Five volunteers participated in the evaluation, and the results indicate a high level of satisfaction with the system and the resources it provides for performing maintenance tasks.
