Resumen
In developing countries, there is a lack of personnel and technological support tools for special education. In Ecuador, multisensory stimulation approaches are scarcely applied in the area of special education. For these reasons, this paper presents a system that uses rule-based expert systems, mobile applications, and electronic educational modules that incorporate several sensors to provide multisensory stimulation for children with different types of disabilities. We tested our proposal with two groups of volunteers: a team of five experts in Psychology and Special Education and a group of four children with disabilities with the support of seven teachers. The preliminary results show high acceptance levels by experts, children, and teachers.
