Abstract

This study collects the experience of 4 projects of connection with society carried out by students and teachers of the Salesian Polytechnic University - Ecuador in the framework of COVID-19, which meant a transition from face-to-face activities to the virtual context with the purpose of giving continuity to them. It points out the articulation of the Salesian preventive system as a pedagogical model that modulates university social responsibility. An analysis of these experiences is presented under the communicational perspective and articulated in 4 approaches that redirected the university linking practices: ICTs to strengthen formal educational processes (school), ICTs to develop communication skills, ICTs to educate and prevent, ICTs to strengthen and unite social organizations. The methodology applied was quantitative, qualitative, using descriptive methods supported by the statistical analysis software SPSS and the realization of focus groups. Finally, this research places new challenges in the discussion horizon regarding the construction of educommunicational processes and the management of communication without mediation and with a high influence of ICT.
