Abstract

According to the latest estimates by UNICEF, 240 million children have disabilities in the world. Developing countries of South America, such as Ecuador, currently do not have enough technological tools to teach sexual education and self-care health concepts to children and youth with disabilities. For these reasons, in this paper, we present a serious game to support the learning of these concepts to children and youth with intellectual disabilities. In this line, the system developed implements a Random Forest Classifier to determine which game’s sections must be played by each child according to his/her profile. We tested the serious game with 10 children and youth with intellectual disabilities. The preliminary results are encouraging and show significant acceptance levels by children and youth.
