Qualitative methodology was addressed, using descriptive designs to specify and analyze different situations, all combined with appropriate techniques that were generated through the research. The characterization was achieved by carrying out an exploration of the Literacy Knowledge Update Course in period 51 (October 2017-January 2018) to which the students of the Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS) accessed at the Guayaquil and Cuenca campuses as part of the actions aimed at strengthening the processes in question and the approval of the seminar for graduation.
