Abstract
This research analyzes artistic spaces as a structure and tool to strengthen and revitalize the cultural identity of a locality. These scenarios have implemented artistic, economic and tourism development, the growth of creative industries and socio-cultural solutions to current community problems, as well as the acceptance of the conceptualization of culture and cultures. The development that artistic and cultural areas have maintained since their beginnings has been directed towards a society with the modality of being exposed to a formal public by public or private institutions. In the last decade, cultural policies have allowed managers or artists to generate a creative imaginary by promoting a participatory platform to disseminate art and culture. This recognizes that the collective community memory is more active in a city and that it generates ways to revitalize the historical identity of individuals through artistic spaces about a contemporary social struggle.
