Abstract
The Salesian Polytechnic University has 27 years of service to Ecuadorian society. A short but intense institutional life that has developed a position in the region. A work style that is recognized both by the academic community and by society, whose characteristic features are close interpersonal relationships based on respect and trust, the centrality of its action in the student and its strong social commitment. The Research Group on Local Development-GIDLO, considers it pertinent and timely to reflect on the university models and practices of this institution. For this reason, and with the collaboration of teachers-researchers, students and administrative staff, it has systematized some projects of Linkage with Society that have achieved impacts in qualitative terms and educational innovation.
