Abstract

Violence is considered as any action that uses physical force or abuse of power against the integrity of a person or oneself, which is related to biological, psychological, structural, social factors, among others. Many of the times, a large part of the population is unaware of these issues, becoming a problem that arises daily worldwide. The following investigation seeks to determine the causes, factors and consequences of violence both at a cognitive and physical level, based on the importance of psychology to avoid damage to a person's health. A bibliographical research was carried out where several books, articles, book chapters, among others, were investigated in order to analyze the various consequences of violence. Finally, it was found that the consequences of violence occur at the emotional level, such as mood disorders, and in personality disorders.
