Abstract

GAMIFICATION, SIMULATION, SERIOUS GAMES AND GAME-BASED LEARNINGThe Gartner Dazzle Cycle is considered a way of thinking about emerging technologies, rather than an objective representation of their development. For example, serious games are slower. There have never been high expectations about its potential impact on education. In fact, they have long been dismissed as too expensive or not appropriate for formal education. However, that opinion has changed in recent years.
