Abstract

This section presents the results of a research on the educational transition from the level of Initial Education (EI) to the first level of Basic General Education (EGB), with the purpose of exposing theoretical reflections and criteria of various authors, projecting to the Ecuadorian context. In the first part of the work, the transition is conceptualized as the passage from one level to the next, with cognitive, social and emotional dimensions; The need for articulation between both categories is highlighted, so that the child feels safe and accompanied during the transformation process, avoiding contexts that cause rejection reactions in the infant when faced with the new, conditioning their human development and learning for life and the school. In the second part of the work, a descriptive and field investigation is developed, through interviews with EI and first-year EGB teachers, in order to obtain information focused on the context of Ecuadorian education.
