Abstract

Even though in Ecuador there are policies and laws that support the right to inclusive education, there are few institutions that have assumed this challenge with responsibility, at the national level to reduce or eliminate elements that generate exclusion, much work must still be done in this problematic. An approximation to this reality is made from the social paradigm that bases the human rights of the visually impaired population. The objective is to strengthen pedagogical training in visual ECD. The phenomenological qualitative methodology with a non-experimental research design became the support structure of this work oriented towards educational improvement with an exploratory scope. It is a descriptive cross-sectional study. We worked with a total population of forty-four people (44), of which they were 30 students with visual disabilities and 14 subjects directly linked to this group, selected from among the teaching and administrative staff of the Salesian Polytechnic University, Guayaquil, so that they provided information through semi-structured interviews. Through communication, observation and listening, some barriers are identified that impede the academic training process, due to the diversity of students with this condition. Questionnaires are used to collect information that served for the strengthening proposal. From the analysis and triangulation of data with the techniques applied in the study, factors that weaken the pedagogical work (teaching / learning) are identified, and the design of an educational and integrating contingency plan is obtained, carried out from the psychosocial intervention and community.
