Abstract
Since its creation in 1994, one of the central and permanent concerns of the Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS) has been to provide the indigenous population with the necessary training to improve their living conditions and support the achievement of their political project as nationalities and peoples. Within this framework, UPS has designed and executed a variety of academic programs for this population, programs that have been differentiated not only by the level and modality of studies, but also by the topics worked: education, local development, biotechnology, agricultural production, among others.
