Abstract

The research presents a critical discourse analysis (CDA) conducted around the tweets sent from the accounts of Abdalá and Jacobo Bucaram, in response to a series of reports presented by journalist Dayana Monroy, in the Teleamazonas news program. Thus, the objective of this study is to analyze cyberbullying from a gender perspective, as a strategy to delegitimize journalistic work. In addition, this inquiry crosses communication, journalism and gender studies from the methodological perspective of the ACD. In order to carry out the CDA, an analysis matrix was generated that focused on Monroy's forms of representation, based on the semantic connotations of various linguistic components of the text. As a result, it is evident that in 100% of the tweets there is some kind of cyberbullying that threatens the personal and professional rights of the journalist; showing the macho technoviolence against this professional journalist.
