Abstract

This article presents the optimization process of a rectangular patch antenna using nature-inspired optimization algorithms, specifically those based on swarm intelligence. The main contribution of this work lies in the adaptation of Marine Predator Algorithm (MPA) and its comparison with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm for optimization of an antenna designed to resonate at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. Comparison between algorithms was conducted based on error, number of iterations, convergence time, and S11 parameter. Effectiveness of MPA over PSO in this specific optimization problem was demonstrated, achieving superior results with fewer iterations.
