Abstract

The inadequate management of financial and economic resources to reduce the vulnerability of Food Security in the geographical areas of Manabita is one of the priorities to be addressed by authorities of undernourished children, to distribute these resources, there is insufficient local management capacity. Food security is a complex and multidimensional phenomenon; the methodology used is descriptive, comparative and correlational, with variables raised in works by Smith/Haddad 2000 and UNICEF 1990, whose main factors are: food, income, infrastructure, water, sanitation, health and education. The main objective is to establish priorities for action to improve the nutritional status and promote the development of Manabí. Determinants of cantonal vulnerability, the severity of the problem of how many people suffer from it and their capacity to respond have been measured. In order to solve it, an adequate management of geographical and sectorial priorities is proposed, mainly of financial resources of the competent institutions.
