Abstract

According to the latest estimates of the National Council for Equality of Disabilities (CONADIS), in Ecuador, there are a total of 215,156 people with motor disabilities. Along these lines, the rehabilitation or therapy processes are one of the main challenges physiotherapists have due to the different conditions and limitations that are in the middle. Therefore, incorporating technological tools in this area is very convenient so that experts in this area can have a support tool. In this work, a robotic assistant called “Lucas-Bot” is presented, capable of making movements with its arms and legs providing relaxation exercises as a previous step to therapies with children with motor disabilities. With this, it is sought that children have a greater predisposition to work with experts in the development of physiotherapies. The robotic assistant has different routines adapted under the criteria of experts, in order to determine its viability in real use. In orr to validate the robotic assistant, Kendall’s Coefficient of Concordance W was used with 4 experts in the area, obtaining an almost perfect level of consensus and a p-value of 4.5e−06.
