Abstract

Formative research must be developed not only in the academy but also in extracurricular research groups, within university centers. This article presents the analysis of the research production of students of the Computer Engineering Career who were part of a research hotbed during their university studies, as an optional alternative to improve their professional research skills. Through a descriptive, longitudinal, quantitative study, the level of progress in the development of the scientific production of the students who integrated the seedbed of the research group until the year 2022 was evaluated, in addition, the published articles were consulted. A total of 60 students responded to an online questionnaire with categories of questions concerning the study, in addition 20 professionals who were part of the seedbed were interviewed. The results from 2013 to 2022 show the interest of students to participate in research processes in a seedbed with the accompaniment and guidance of a researcher, in addition to providing information related to the development of skills that improve the professional profile of students who participated in this process.
