Abstract

The minga is a model of ancestral collective work, whose essence is to join efforts according to the needs of the project. In order to comprehensively address the involvement of this model, the respective systematization was applied in 4 experiences carried out between 2011 and 2018 focused on maintenance campaigns of heritage assets in Ecuador, focusing on the analysis of the participating actors, their respective roles and the legal framework that protects them. The results show that the power of decision and action facilitates the processes in time and work generating greater efficiency in the maintenance of heritage works, likewise, this synchrony is produced due to the level of convening, links and commitments with simultaneous schedules, human and financial resources in order to achieve the proposed objectives. In short, the deepening of the development of these experiences shows that the minga is an effective model for community work that should be extrapolated to its implementation, abandoning the traditional vision where the governmental instance is presented as the only one responsible for public goods.
