Abstract
This article addresses the importance of freedom of expression on virtual platforms. The main objective was to identify the most significant elements for understanding the particular characteristics that freedom of expression assumes as socio-cultural practices in higher education. We worked with a qualitative methodology with a descriptive approach in the virtual Oral and Written Communication (COE) course at the national level, it is corroborated with interviews with teachers, the regulation of platforms, convergent scenarios and dialogue in the digital environment is analyzed. The results indicate that the students' freedom of expression is made visible from the pedagogical section by capitalizing on communication by text, video, photography and audio as technological resources, evaluated in the teaching-learning process. It is concluded that the oral expression techniques seen in the COE course reflexively contribute to the freedom and production of knowledge in university students.
