Abstract
Qualitative research can still generate confusion among communicators by adopting different meanings. Hence the urgency of looking at the way we are conducting our research. Communication as a production of meanings usually faces the theoretical-methodological problem of transforming the discourse level (written, spoken, visual, etc.) into the numerical level, decontextualizing discursive meanings. In this sense, qualitative research is an alternative to face the digital world of our days, always recognizing the importance of the context and of the social, cultural, political and economic processes that in their mediation with communication allow us to understand contemporary phenomena.
