The accreditation experience of the UPS in the indicators of scientific research, regional research and peer-reviewed books. The increase in publishing production is noted and the primacy of the social sciences in publishing production is reaffirmed. Finally, it is anticipated that the overvaluation of indexed articles and the typological restrictions of peer-reviewed books will discourage the development of university publishing houses. The hypothesis is as follows: to the extent that the evaluation and accreditation model assigns a higher value to peer-reviewed books and broadens their typology, it will contribute to the stimulation of publishing production and improve research indicators.
