Abstract

In May 2013, the Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS) of Ecuador held the First Salesian Education Congress in the city of Cuenca. Seven years later and now virtually, its fourth edition was held with the theme: "The educational project: youth challenges for social transformation". This volume gathers 43 papers presented at this IV Congress: five keynote lectures and 38 academic articles. The articles are divided into four thematic areas: "Education and social participation processes", "Child and youth citizenship", "Pedagogical transformations and social transformation in a context of global crisis" and "Preventive system and education". Of these, seven are published in Portuguese and the remainder in Spanish. Authors from Ecuador, Latin America and Europe are also participating. It is hoped that these texts will shed light on those involved in the educational process, from the perspective of young people as subjects of education and in the context of the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
