Abstract

Suicide is a latent problem in the American continent that generates concern and several questions. Although the subject has been worked mainly by the health field, interdisciplinary efforts are important for the understanding of its complexities and sociocultural variables. It is in this aspect that ethnographic records on the subject become valuable contributions to enrich this line of research from South American Anthropology.
