Abstract

Social interaction and the practice of dance-theater integrates the social groups of the communities that are going through situations of neglect in health, education, family problems, conflicts, drugs, violence and total ignorance of their rights and public policies. At first, living with the communities of Garrapata, Rio Santo and Agua Blanca in the parish of Ricaurte in the canton of Chone in northern Manabi, does not change their reality, but over time, participating in art workshops provides an option to discover skills and abilities dormant due to the abandonment of the system and ignorance of the environment. Living with them, observing their cultural signs, customs, traditions, exchanging knowledge, learning from their social memories, stories, legends, musical tastes, serves as a guide to build scripts, texts, choreographic phrases, amorphous and project their essence on stage.
