Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze how teamwork affects students' motivation when preparing a class. Fifteen students, who are studying Linear Algebra and are pursuing a degree in Engineering, participated in this study. The procedure in this study is as follows: (1) The students formed groups of 3 students, (2) The topic was assigned to each group formed, (3) Through teamwork the students prepared the class, and their doubts were clarified in a meeting with the teacher before the development of the class, (4) The students presented the class, (5) At the end of the presentation, a peer evaluation was made. The instrument used in this study was a survey. The results show that students who are exposed to this teaching model are more motivated and involved in learning.
