Abstract

In this research, the deontology applied by professionals when developing quality controls of welds through non-destructive tests was analyzed, while making emphasis on the ultrasound method applied in large-scale projects. Basic concepts of welding, non-destructive testing and what is the deontology applied to each of these situations are identified. The professionals in charge of carrying out the entire procedure from inspection, quality control and approval of it, go through various situations that could affect both their professional ethics, their work and their skills; This is where deontology comes in for a correct procedure or a correct delivery of a final work. It studies the effect of the environment and how the institution in charge can help to improve some aspects to obtain better results, in turn, the balance between the costs of conducting non-destructive tests and the human or material costs that could be present if these were not performed correctly. From the analysis carried out in the document, it can be concluded that in the eventuality of failures within the welding, the professional in charge must take responsibility for the work carried out and follow the regulations established by the institutions in charge of the project, either the partial or total replacement of the work, as well as the repair if the case is compatible.
