Abstract

In the present work, the research on "Psychological well-being in older adults between the ages of 60 and 90 years of age in a public center in the city of Quito in the year 2023" is disclosed. The objective of the research is to identify the levelsof psychological well-being that older adults present by applying the Carol Ryff psychological well-being test, which consists of 6 dimensions, which demonstrate whether the person has a high, medium or low psychological well-being. In the same way, the quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional method was used; allowing to deepen the statistics of the elderly and know what percentage presents a high or low psychological well-being. It was possible to show that older adults have a medium to high well-being;In the main dimensions, it was determined that older adults experience a feeling of positive acceptance towards their knowledge, they have also managed to carry out physical and mental activities, which have helped their environment and moderately satisfytheir needs with peace of mind, although it has not been achieved completely. all achieve such satisfactory help, obtaining as a result the evidence of a lack of purpose in their old age stage. The purpose of this research has allowed to know different aspects that decrease or increase the psychological and physical development of all older adults, understanding that a greater well-being is achieved with group interaction than being alone and without distractors that can help them.
