Abstract
The institution in its origins was born as "Escuela Municipal de Bellas Artes". On April 15, 1941 it began to operate with an academic curriculum exclusively of fine arts subjects, with six years of study, the result of a fire in the institution resulted in a year of closure, reopening on December 19, 1972, where the ordinance of creation of the Municipal School of Fine Arts is approved, placing in addition to the subjects in art subjects of general training, necessary for admission to the University.
