Abstract

The theory of antennas is a subject that focuses on the study of the fundamental principles of antennas and their application in wireless communications. As it involves mathematical and physical concepts, it can be considered an abstract topic in some aspects, which can hinder its visualization and comprehension. Although there are many software tools available that allow simulating the behavior of antennas with great precision, this is not sufficient to fully assimilate the theoretical concepts. Instead, the best way to learn the theory of antennas is by designing and testing real antennas. In response to this issue, we present "AntennaEDU", an interactive tool that aims to contribute to the teaching and learning of antenna theory. AntennaEDU, was built with three subsystems that allow students to design, simulate, optimize, build, and test their own antennas. The results obtained demonstrate a high similarity between the measured data and the simulated data, which confirms the effectiveness of AntennaEDU as a useful tool for the process of teaching and learning antennas.
