Alejando el Umbral del Desequilibrio Ambiental. Seis Aportes Al Debate

"The third decade of the 21st century has just begun and the environmental challenges ahead of us, reflected in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations (UN), are numerous" (Iberdrola, 2021): adaptation to climate change and, above all, its slowdown; rampant water and air pollution; the depletion of fossil fuel sources and the need to develop renewable energy sources; sustainable food models; biodiversity protection; urban development and sustainable mobility; water stress and the depletion of drinking water sources; the rampant increase in the world's population and waste management. These few words summarize the challenges facing humanity, but the magnificence and complexity of these challenges reach unsuspected limits, and the question is, are we still in time and do we have the capacity to face them? Humans, for the most part, are characterized by optimism. However, this feeling may have diminished in many, for example, as a result of the events that took place in the Chinese province of Hubei, at the end of 2019, and which to this day keep humanity in suspense. Why have we reached a situation like the current one? Whose fault is it?.
