2022 IEEE Sixth Ecuador Technical Chapters Meeting (ETCM)

As IEEE ETCM 2022 General chairs and on behalf of the conference organizing committee, it is for us a pleasure and a great honor to welcome you to the sixth version of the Ecuadorian Technical Chapters Meeting, from October 11 to 14 in QuitoˆaEcuador, organized by the IEEE Ecuador Section and coˆaorganized by the Escuela Polit´ecnica Nacional. IEEE ETCM 2022 aims to provide a comprehensive and highly prestigious venue for academics, engineers, and researchers in particular from Ecuador Technical Chapters’ fields of expertise. In this version, we covered both theoretical and practical issues related to Systems and Control, Industrial Electronics, Power and Energy, Engineering in Medicine and Biology, Robotics and Automation Systems, Circuits, Systems, and Electron Devices, Computational Intelligence, Smart Mobility, Education in Engineering, Computer and Software Engineering, Communications, and Social Issues and Professional Practice. This year we received 110 paper submissions from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and, Venezuela. 70 of them were accepted. The program for this year’s conference includes six tutorials and six invited talks from Distinguished Lecturers in the areas mentioned above. The first IEEE ETCM was organized in 2016, in GuayaquilˆaEcuador as the first IEEE Ecuadorian Conference that brings together all the Ecuadorian professional IEEE Chapters. It was decided to do it on an annual basis and the second edition was hosted in the beach of SalinasˆaEcuador in 2017. In 2018, the city of Cuenca was the location for the event. The next year, 2019, the IEEE ETCM came back to the city where it started, Guayaquil. In 2020 the event didn’t take place because Ecuador hosted the IEEE ANDESCON, the Conference of the IEEE Andean Council. In 2021 for the first time it was in hybrid mode (virtual and face-to-face), in the city of Cuenca. This year is the sixth edition of the event and in hybrid mode, in the city of Quito. Let this be the opportunity to express our gratitude for the support of the IEEE Ecuadorian Chapters, Distinguished Lecturers, Chairs, Reviewers and all the professional and student volunteers that made this conference possible. We also want to express our gratefulness to the Escuela Polit´ecnica Nacional for being our sponsor.
