Resumen
This paper presents the application of different design techniques to a circular patch antenna with resonant frequency of 3.5 GHz. The techniques used in the monopole modification were ground plane modification, feed line modification, insertion of slots, and notch filters. After applying the above, the designs were simulated getting the antenna to operate within the Ultra Wide Band (UWB) range. Simulation results show how the antennas characteristic values change, such as their bandwidth, gain, and the resonant frequency where they are best coupled. To test their performance, antennas were built using an FR-4 substrate, with a thickness of 1.5 mm. Fabricated antennas results are in accordance with the parameters obtained in the simulation. In this way, it is determined that depending on the antenna application, one or another technique can be applied, thus improving its bandwidth, gain, or maximum sensitivity to the resonance frequency.
