Resumen
This investigation analyzed a fluid mixture system byfinite elements, in a specialized software. The resultantloads on the agitator were considered on an AISI 304stainless steel shaft, used for mixing solids insuspension for paint, with a solid content between 30to 50 %. An axial use agitator system was selected dueto it adapts faster than to any resulting flow in themixture. In accordance to the downward flow, thesystem also reaches better results in the mixturebetween fluids with solids in suspension, by raising thepossible elements that settle in the tank. By analyzingthe product requirements, the sizing of the mainelements of the mixture system was validated, sincethe shaft and blades comply with an admissible safetyfactor, without increasing costs during the manufacturing process. Two dimensions of agitator blade diameters were evaluated, 600 and 650 mm, being the smaller one which obtained better results, generating an increase in the flow rate and improving product mixing times. It is important to mention that the agitator can even be manufacture with hollow shafts, to reduce costs.
