Resumen
This paper proposes a process for channel resource allocation over a three-level underlying cellular system to allocate channel resources on device-to-device (D2D) links in femtocells served through the base station. These characteristics require an efficient allocation of resources for both direct and D2D links; thus, an optimal allocation based on a heuristic algorithm is proposed for both links to analyze the number of data packet transmissions and resource blocks used by each user when requesting resources from the network. The designed heuristic is based on dedicated resources allocation algorithms, such as Network Proportional Fairness, Best Channel Quality Indicator, and Round Robin. Also, it reveals a performance comparison between these algorithms to establish which one best adheres to the performance sought in the designed heuristic by determining the maximum number of users before the network starts to be saturated by packet transmission. The results show an important finding since the BCQI algorithm presents fairness in the resource allocation network because it offers a higher transmission of data packets over direct links when increased the D2D radius.
