Resumen

The increase of security threats and attacks in Ecuador, motivates the implementation of security incident response teams (CSIRT) in the different Ecuadorian organizations in different domains: academic, military, financial, public sector and critical infrastructures. NIST has developed a set of steps that are necessary to establish the CSIRT. The purpose of this study is to develop an analysis of each of the steps proposed by NIST in the Ecuadorian context, to identify the current status of response capabilities to security incidents in Ecuador and analyze possible actions to improve these capabilities.
