Research output: Book/ReportBook

Abstract

A camera in the street offers the possibility of knowing and understanding the process of construction of images that narrate the history of the city of Cuenca and the province of Azuay through the photographic camera of Vicente Aureliano Tello Tapia. Don Vichi, as he is known to his closest friends, has contributed to the development of both the profession of photojournalism and the historical and cultural heritage of Cuenca by portraying the daily life of the city and its protagonists. In the pages of this book, Malena and Ricardo Tello, Don Vichi's granddaughter and son respectively, tell the story of the photojournalist's professional and life journey through theoretical reflection and the events of a developing city, its achievements and problems, the daily life and the faces of its inhabitants. The work contains unpublished images, the result of Malena Tello's degree work in Social Communication at UPS Cuenca (excerpt).
