Abstract

Trying to understand the truth is something very delicate, Heidegger presents it from the sense of being, that instant of time, that "being there" where the horizon finds its meaning. Levinas gives a different sense to ontology; to that turn given by Heidegger from phenomenology to hermeneutics and proposes a look from another sphere and another sense that falls on the Other. Truth in the understanding of the other. Being lacks certainty and truth without the other. Following an analytical route of texts we try to present a very brief approach to these two great thinkers, who surely leave us with the "need" to discover them in the philosophical immensity of their works, that only the art of the word in poetry can briefly illustrate the immensity and intensity of truth.
