Abstract

The delivery of a quality electric service is the main objective of the energy distribution companies. There are problems of affection in the distribution of energy and one of them are the negative effects caused by the harmonics present in the linear and non-linear loads used by residential and industrial customers sectors, directly affecting the power factor negatively. In this work we measure the power factor produced by typical loads used in residential areas by means of an intelligent based on the use of SBC (Single Board Computer), such as the Raspberry Pi and the Arduino. In addition, the effects produced by the power factor are evaluated to then determine its influence on the voltage distortion in a distribution system.
