Abstract
This book collects a select set of studies that address the com-plex dynamics of Quichua orality and writing from different thematic perspectives and social experiences. Among the ques-tions answered by the studies are: What oral sources does Quichua writing draw on? What orality-writing practices are contributing to the intergenerational transmission of Quichua, its maintenance and revitalization? How are new communica-tion technologies used in relation to the oral and written prac-tices of Quichua? What are the methodological advances and appropriate technologies for the study of Quichua orality and writing? What happens in bilingual education classrooms re-garding the use and functions of languages? In a context of profound cultural changes, it is imperative to open the debate on these issues.
