Abstract

The paper presents a D-STATCOM Multilevel Cascade Inverter model, which bases on synchronous reference frame control strategy to reduce the current total harmonic distortion. The non-linear loads produce this current harmonic distortion when this load is connected to the analysis bus. The harmonic content of the network is evaluated before and after the strategy compensation. There are different connection and disconnection times of the compensator, to differentiate between distorted waveforms and perfect sine waves. As a result, it is established the strategy performance. The system implementation was carried in MATLAB and Simulink platform, to do the simulation and analysis of the research result. The THD reduction underline the reliability of the proposed strategy.
