Abstract
Tourism refers to the trips made by people to different destinations for a consecutive period of less than one year for leisure, business and other purposes. tourism in Ecuador began its modern development in the 40s of the 20th century, but mainly in the last three decades it began to consolidate itself as an economic and sociocultural activity of great importance (Ruiz Ballesteros and Solís Carrión, 2007). This activity has a significant economic weight in the city of Cuenca, which is favored by the growth of tourism in the world and by the natural and cultural resources that the city has.
