Abstract

The energy sector is one of the main sources of greenhouse gasesand pollution. It also becomes the main sector to be intervened not onlyenvironmentally but also technically. The decarbonization process ofthe energy-producing segment contemplates the disconnection ofconventional generation systems that use fossil fuels. The processconsists of the exchange of renewable generation systems capableof meeting the demand that was previously supplied byconventional sources. This research provides a perspective to finddecarbonization alternatives seeking to determine an adequateprocess to introduce renewable generation systems. The processconsiders economic factors of fuel spending and the cost ofimplementing the photovoltaic system. This coal is achieved usingsimulations of the power system are to determine the optimal powerdispatch. It is also employed a linear optimization model to minimizethe costs on an annual basis through the optimal selection of theinstalled power of the renewable generation system. The simulationsare performed using Matlab and PowerFactory with an IEEE 13-bar system as the test system.
