Abstract

A grounded system constitutes one of the fundamental parts in an electrical power circuit, finding in the literature experiments in which a comparison of the step voltages is made, with the touch voltages, in the different types of meshes, they are scarce. In this work we want to present the effect that they have on the touch and step voltage at the different points of the grounding meshes, following the IEEE-80 standard, for this an electrolyte was used in a rectangular container with the which the real data of a system (SPT) was obtained. The information of the voltages that are consolidated from the real practice, with those that are acquired with the simulation of the ETAP software, are compared as result of which the behavior characteristics of each one of this type of meshes will be obtained. With the development of this work, it is intended to determine the type of mesh that provides greater security in a grounding circuit as well as to verify if the rectangular-based container is suitable for SPT measurements.
