Estudio del Comportamiento del Índice Nacional de Eficiencia Energética para Refrigeradores Domésticos en el Ecuador

This article studies the behavior of the national energy efficiency index for domestic refrigerators inEcuador, with a projection up to 2050 and in accordance with the policies implemented during theperiod 1994 - 2015. The motivation for this study lies in the high residential consumption in Ecuadorreaches 25% of the national consumption, which is affected mainly by the consumption of thedomestic refrigerator in values of 35%, a percentage that due to the inadequate use and above all theyears of operation of the equipment, which in many cases exceed 10 years, consumption could reachvalues of 60% of total residential consumption. The energy efficiency index can be adjusted accordingto realities different from the local ones, which makes it possible to stimulate the development ofnational production by incorporating technological improvements and, above all, taking advantage ofopportunities for exporting these products.
