Abstract

Ecuadorian traditional music exposes the identity from the nuances of art, highlighting the value of cultural expression in an Ecuadorian society mediatized and consumerist of foreign musical genres, it is highlighted in this work the historicity of the pasillo genre, as one of the representative sounds of the country. The description of the work highlights the life and work of the renowned artists Naldo Campos and Fresia Saavedra Gómez, transcendent referents of national music; through a qualitative methodology and applying the interview technique, we resort to the radio format, audio-documentary to compile details of their beginnings, anecdotes and musical achievements, as well as highlighting their collaborations and contributions with other important exponents. The intention is to strengthen the values of autonomy, identity and belonging through the link forged with national music. The result of this proposal is the elaboration of an audio-documentary that reflects the beauty of the sound language, the opinions and comments of the artists to disseminate their legacy, their melodies and rhythms, thus enriching the audience's knowledge from a warm approach to the national musical identity.
