Abstract

Since the second half of the first decade of the 2000s, YouTube has become the main platform for exposing videos of all kinds. Among them, the prolific production of music videos in or with the Quichua language stands out, in which the speakers themselves stage forms of visual self-representation, while displaying new linguistic uses and bets on aesthetic seduction through the dissemination of audiovisual oralitures. This article reports on a task of systematic observation of more than 200 music videos in Quichua, through which the vitality of the language is worked on in said virtual space.
