Abstract
The Interdisciplinary Research Group in Applied Mathematics (GIIMA) of the Salesian Polytechnic University, Guayaquil, posed a very specific problem for this research: What is the footprint left by humans in the Daule River? To answer this question we worked on some variables and indicators. The dependent research variable is water quality, with the most important research indicators being the concentrations of iron, arsenic, total solids, pH, temperature, and turbidity. The independent variable is demographic factors, such as population density, migration and longevity. An important case study that tells us about the impact of human beings on nature and the environment.
